Abstract

It is undeniable, completing the final assignment is still a scourge for students. To minimize the improvement of the learning process, it should be done in stages and continuously. In addition, there needs to be an evaluation and reflection of learning to find out the obstacles and find alternative solutions for subsequent learning. The research subjects were VII semester students of the 2017/2018 academic year. This study uses the following instruments Learning Unit, Observation Sheet, Student Worksheet, Test Questions, and Field Notes. This article wants to present a description of the results of the reflection of learning that has been done on the subject of thesis writing techniques in the hope of providing a learning experience that can train students' critical thinking skills. The conclusions taken are through Problem Based Learning (PBL) that can be identified by students' critical thinking skills, the critical thinking indicators that are mostly owned by mathematics education students IKIP PGRI Jember namely Interpretation, the least critical indicator possessed by students is Recognition of assumptions.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of Means Ends Analysis (MEA) model to the interest and outcomes of mathematics learning of seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 6 Denpasar academic year of 2017/2018. The type of research was a quasi experiment and the design of research was non equivalent posttest-only control group design. The population were 9 classes of seventh grade students (364 students) in SMP Negeri 6 Denpasar which involved 2 classes as the sample taken by using multistage random sampling technique. The obtained data of this research used questionnaire and mathematics test score which furthermore analyzed by using MANOVA with SPSS 22.0 for Windows. Based on the obtained hypothesis test results: 1) there was an effect of Means Ends Analysis (MEA) model to the mathematics appreciation of seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 6 Denpasar academic of year 2017/2018, with the value 0,000 < 0,05, 2) there was an effect of Means Ends Analysis (MEA) modelto the mathematics literacy of seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 6 Denpasar academic year of 2017/2018, with the value 0,000< 0,05, and 3) there was an effect of Means Ends Analysis (MEA) modelto themathematics appreciation and mathematics literacyof seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 6 Denpasar academic year of 2017/2018, with the value 0,000< 0,05.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the relationship between mathematical disposition and the mathematical proof of students, especially in real analysis subjects. This research was conducted at IKIP PGRI Bali in 2018 with 25 students in semester Va. The instrument of data collection is a test of mathematical proof which is one of the achievements in learning real analysis and mathematical disposition questionnaire. Data was analyzed with the Spearman rank correlation. The results of the analysis show that the contribution of mathematical disposition to the student's evidence ability is 18.4%, but based on the statistical test the relationship is not significant. The results of this study indicate that the ability to prove the mathematics of students does not depend on the mathematical dispositions they have but rather the mastery of the material being studied. Therefore understanding the concepts and doing mathematical proof exercise is the most important thing

Abstract

Each individual has different thinking skills that are influenced by various factors. Students can think critically with skills through the results of analyzing and verifying truth actively and effectively. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of performance of student experts through critical thinking skills based on mathematical abilities. There is a level of performance (performance) consisting of 4 levels set by Exemplar. The four levels are Beginners, Internships, Practitioners, and Experts. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. the results of this study that the level of performance of expert students have different levels of critical thinking skills based on the indicators achieved. Students who have high abilities meet all levels of Expert's performance even though there is one indicator that has not been achieved perfectly. Whereas in students with moderate abilities there are 2 indicators that are not fulfilled and low-ability students do not meet all indicators but there are indicators that appear even though not all.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the student created case studies method assisted by flip charts on the level of independence and learning outcomes of biology. The research is classified as a quasi-experimental, using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population consisted of all students of class X MIPA SMA 1 Blahbatuh, consisting of 7 classes (278 students). Samples were taken in simple random order, obtained 80 students of class X MIPA2 and X MIPA5. Biology learning independence score data are used questionnaires and learning outcomes scores (grades) using learning outcomes test instruments. Hypothesis testing using t-test and Manova. Based on data analysis, the following are found: 1) there are differences in the level of independence between students, following a student created case study method assisted by flip charts by following conventional learning, 2) there are differences in biology learning outcomes of students following a student created case study method assisted by flip charts by following conventional learning, 3) there are simultaneous differences in the level of independence and biology learning outcomes between those who attend a student created case study method assisted by flip charts with those who follow conventional learning.

Abstract

This research was done in order to know inhibitory activity of beatle leaf the cultivar of Beleng extract and its mechanism against the growth of F. oxysporum f. sp. vanillae, that causal agent of steam disease on vanilla. Many effort have been done to control the disease such as the use of synthetic fungicide. In order to find other alternatives for controlling the disease, Beleng leaf were studied for their bioactivity against F. oxysporum f. sp. vanillae. The result of the study indicated that the crude extract of Beleng leaf at concentration 0.05%; 0.1%; 0.15%; 0.2%; 0.25%; 0.3% and 0.35% was able to inhibit the radial growth of F. oxysporum f.sp. vanillae on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) medium. The variation of crude extract concentration was found to influence the fungal growth on vanilla stem cutings on PD Broth medium. In addition, the crude extract of Beleng leaf was able to inhibit the spore germination and spore formation of F. oxysporum f. sp. vanillae on PD Broth medium. The fractination of Beleng leaf crude extract with Column Chromatography and Thin Layer Chromatography produced 15 fractions of compound, the fraction number VI which is made of three compounds with Rf value : 0.35; 0.55 and 0.78 efectively inhibited the growth of F. oxysporum f. sp. vanillae on PDA medium.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of student learning difficulties in the Introduction to Basic Mathematics courses in the mathematics education study program FPMIPA IKIP PGRI Bali. This type of research is based on the formulation of research problems, so this study is categorized into descriptive research types. This is intended to manage the data obtained from respondents based on the results of interviews conducted by researchers. The research subjects were mathematics education study program students who had completed the subjects of introductory to basic mathematics in this case were students of the 2017 class. Based on the results and discussion it could be concluded that the level of difficulty of students in understanding the subjects of introductory to basic mathematics in the Mathematics Education Study Program of FPMIPA IKIP PGRI Bali was high.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effects of using Bio CAS solvent on the protein content and the reduction of crude fiber content through fermentation process. The collected data were the protein content and the crude fiber, also physical observation of the rice straw assessed by 20 respondents on the colors, textures and smell. The data were treated using the analysis of variance (ANAVA) by performing the F test at the significance level of 5% and 1%. The Duncant test would be performed if there happen to be any significant differences between the treatments. The most optimal result of the fermented protein content was in P3 treatment at the concentration of 2% with the value of 6,0571%. The lowest crude fiber content occured in the treatment with a concentration of 2% (P3) with a value of 24,2873% and the P3 treatment also had a weak texture, the color of the rice straw was brownish yellow and smelled of acid like the smell of tape.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative study with a correlation approach to determine whether or not there is a relationship between interest in learning and students' mathematical reasoning abilities in geometry. The subjects of this study were IA class students of Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Mahasaraswati University Denpasar 2018/2019 academic year. Data was collected through questionnaire and documentation. Data were analyzed with the help of SPSS for Windows v.20 software. The results obtained from this study include: (1) learning interest of students with very interested categories = 62.5%, interested = 25%, and quite interested = 12.5%. (2) There is a positive and significant relationship between interest in learning mathematics with learning outcomes of mathematics with a value of rxy = 0.84 and a test result (2-tailed) of 0.027.

Abstract

The problem of misconceptions about flat building in geometry, especially quadrilateral, has been very frequently reviewed by practitioners and educational researchers. However, this remains an inherent problem to date and results in confusion of the basic concept of quadrilaterals. Therefore in this study a geometry-themed learning media was created, especially quadrilateral in the form of geometric t-shirt design to make it easier for students to understand the definitions and differences between the quadrilateral itself. Based on the results of the study, it was found that geometric T-shirt learning media was declared valid with a score above 3 or in the good category. Whereas for the fulfillment of practical criteria, a value of 3.5 is obtained, which means that the shirt of geometry does not require revision and is practical. The value of effectiveness is effective, where the results obtained that the geometry shirt provides learning outcomes that have a significant effect on the achievement of the defined KKM and the achievement of a positive response of 97.12% by students. So that the geometry T-shirt learning media is declared valid, practical and effective in accordance with the criteria for developing instructional media.
